In my post last week on AOL’s Kitchen Daily, I talked about healthy hot pockets – inspired by a TV commercial for Hot Pockets.
So check out three additional variations below for healthy hot pockets that you can fill so many ways. Kids will go crazy over these and they are a mess-free way to have a healthy meal.
Mix and match the filling and freeze the raw pockets wrapped in wax paper. Label a zipper lock bag with a sharpie then slide them inside and freeze. Simply preheat your oven to 400ºF and bake 10 to 15 minutes on a cookie sheet while double check your travel bag, don’t for the sun screen for summer travel.
The Pizzeria
1 cup jarred tomato sauce, ½ chopped green pepper, 8 slices turkey pepperoni, 4 tablespoons grated part-skim mozzarella
The Mediterranean
1 cup roasted red pepper, 4 tablespoons goat cheese, 4 tablespoons black olives, sprinkle of dried oregano
Chicken Barbecue
1 cup barbecue sauce, one cooked chicken breast cubed, 1 cup packed spinach leaves
