I was recently reading “A Lion Named Christian”, the book that tells the story of two men who fell in love with a baby lion that was living in a cage at Harrods department store in the 70’s.
I know it’s ridiculous, but every time I see the Christian The Lion youtube video, I still get so teary eyed.
The book is wonderful since it gives you the background of how these two brave young Australians manage to not only raise a very socialable lion, but also reintroduce him into the wilds of Africa with a dedicated team of lion rehabilitators.
Since I just finished the book, I thought I’d feature one of my favorite poses in Christian’s honor, Lion’s pose. It is great for improving allocution, bringing stress relief, building confidence, and heck – just making you laugh.
Start by knealing, and place your palms on the knees and spread the fingers. Cross your eyes, look up and stick your tongue out. Then let it rip and “roar”, or make a “haaa” sound.
