June 2010 Newsletter

Healthy Summer EntertainingMemorial Day has come and gone, but the summer fun has just begun! Eating luscious seasonal foods like watermelon, basil, and tomatoes is not only refreshingly flavorful, but they can be easily turned into fast and healthy meals.

Summer sunny days seem longer and summer evenings are warmer, so you’ll appreciate the extra energy you’ll have from eating light and enjoying the right foods.

Nosh-Worthy Salsas

Here are some seasonal, nosh-worthy salsas to keep your swimsuit silhouette in check and pool party guests happy. Making these scrumptious salsas is easy and totally worth the 10 minutes you’ll spend to prepare them since they’re only 60 calories or less per half cup and fat-free. Fruits like watermelon, cantaloupe, and tomatoes are naturally high in water content which will help to keep you better hydrated then just plain water alone.
