Healthy Party Snacks

There’s no question that I like to cook, but I like entertaining even more. Testing out my healthy recipes on a hungry crowd is the best way to see which dishes are the most popular and to get feedback on flavors and textures.

In this segment, you’re invited to one of my parties where my neighbors and friends taste-tested many of the recipes you can find on SkinnyChef.com. Find out which ones were the top crowd pleasers among our guest list of 70 attendees.

  • Guacamole
Whenever I invite guests over during the summer – I serve plenty of guacamole because it’s so popular! Many friends have told me that their guacamole is not nearly as tasty and I think I know what the trouble is: Make sure that your avocados are completely ripe before cutting them open.
  • Pulled Pork
My husband says that pork is the food of the gods and I think most men would agree! Last time I made pulled pork for my neighbor Claudio’s birthday party, we saw 30 pounds of pulled pork vanish in just under 2 hours. Watch your fingers ladies when you set this out for your next party.
  • Zucchini Bites
I devised this recipe as an alternative to the average, more caloric party appetizer. Compliment the juicy texture of zucchini by combining it with a light layer of salty, flavorful tapenade. It can be assembled ahead and popped in the oven while you are serving your guests drinks.
  • Creamy Spinach Dip
Artichokes make this creamy spinach dip chunky and satisfying without adding loads of extra fat that the traditional versions has. Artichokes are also high in fiber and make for an excellent salad dressing.
