Eating During Cancer Treatment

Cook For Your Life

I just heard about this new, colorful and wonderful site, Cook for Your Life. It provides a unique advanced search application that allows cancer patients to find recipes that fit how they feel at any given time during treatment.

Choices from categories such as “in radiation,” “in chemo,” “bland,” “quick and easy” or “spicy” allow easy navigation to recipe suggestions for every user. Ann’s experiences as a cancer patient led her to develop recipes that are nourishing, easy to prepare, tasty and able to support the different needs for patients undergoing treatment.

Sweet Potato

Sweet potato is a super healthy food that can make an easy-to-digest, creamy meal. Cruciferous beggies like broccoli have sulfur compounds that are being studied in connection with lower cancer risk. According to the American Institute for Cancer Research, some of the vital compounds in cruciferous vegetables have shown the ability to stop the growth of cancer cells for tumors in the breast, uterine lining, lung, colon and liver.
